Here's one of several beautiful grasses that I dug up from a fellow master gardener's yard. Her blog -- "My Corner in Katy" -- is a great inspiration for anyone gardening in the south. It's much more impressive in person though!

I love miscanthus grasses. Do you know which one this is? I have 'Adagio' in my new garden, mainly because it's fairly small for a miscanthus.
By the way, if you'll enable Name/URL comments in your comment settings, people who don't have these select few accounts will also be able to comment and leave a link. Cheers, Pam
Cindy thinks it's yaku jima but not sure. They are lovely and taking off! Thanks for the URL help. I am so new to this and have a lot to learn. I will try it now. We are in your hometown of Austin for the weekend and kind of sad it's raining ... bet you're glad though!
See how new I am! It says "Jan" commented back to you but it's me, Vikki, on my mother-in-law Jan's computer. I'll learn. :)
Very nice look. I love bunchgrasses in the garden and have about a half dozen different CA natives. Miscanthus isn't native so I don't have it but it looks beautiful - and how nice it is to share with fellow gardeners. Great to have you here.
